Growing up in a faith-driven household, Jerrell embraced the values of determination and self-creation. His academic pursuits in Elementary Education, Psychology, and Creative Writing, coupled with a diploma in Freelance Writing, laid a solid foundation for his literary career. 

In 2009, Jerrell made his mark as Newport's first Black author with his debut poetry book, True Emotions of a Man: The Boy, The Man & His God. His powerful works, including Confessions of a Nice Guy and the acclaimed memoir Black Boys Don’t Speak, earned him a presidential bronze medal from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association, solidifying his status as an influential voice in literature.

Driven by a passion for music inspired by his father's aspirations, Jerrell has carved out a niche as a songwriter and recording artist. Influenced by icons like 50 Cent, Lil' Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Drake, he continues to innovate in the music industry. With the guidance of his recording engineer, Patrick Haire, Jerrell is finding his unique sound and making waves as a film producer and entrepreneur.

Jerrell Grimes' journey is a powerful testament to resilience and triumph over adversity. At just 10 years old, he faced a fierce battle with osteosarcoma, undergoing numerous surgeries and treatments, yet his indomitable spirit remained unbroken. Now, with over 25 years in remission, Jerrell serves as a beacon of hope for many.

Beyond his personal victories, Jerrell is the founder of Ten19 Media Group, an award-winning publishing and film production company, as well as Level10 Recordings and Take Flight 10 Management. His entrepreneurial ventures reflect his dedication to creativity and innovation.
